Аннотация
The article looks into the specifics of correlation between prosodic means and accentuating gestures in cross-cultural discourse between English and American speakers. The study provides a comparative analysis of their kinesic profiles. Closely scrutinised are hand and head gestures, posture, gaze, eyebrow movement and smile. Singled out tendencies in the interrelationship of accentuating gestures and prosodic parameters testify to the tight interconnection between prosody and nonverbal means.
