Abstract
Several austenite corrosion-resistant steels (ACRSs) doped with nitrogen are investigated for resistance to pitting corrosion (PC). As a result of electrochemical studies, polarization curves are obtained and pitting potentials Ep are determined. In parallel, resistance to PC is calculated, on the basis of which correlation equations relating the potential Ep to the chemical composition of nitrogen-containing steels are developed and suggested.
