Resumo
Stress-rupture tests of transverse similar-metal and dissimilar-metal welds are simulated numerically. The dependence of the stress-rupture strength of P91 steel weldments on the relative width of the interlayer and the ratio between the creep rates of the parent metal and the weakened region in the heat-affected zone is identified and described. An upper bound estimate of the stress-rupture strength of a dissimilar-metal weld is obtained using a model of a weldment with two soft interlayers with identical properties. Achange of the point of rupture with reduction in the stress is found numerically and confirmed experimentally.
