Abstract
Theoretical analysis is given to second-harmonic generation in 2D nonlinear photonic crystals of rectangular symmetry with rectangular domains. Formulas for the nonlinear response of the crystal with an arbitrary domain structure are derived within the approximation of a given field. A possibility of calculating time profiles of second-harmonic pulses down to the femtosecond range is demonstrated.
