On the problem of velocity of long continuous waves in overland flows

The velocity of one-dimensional long continuous wave is computed from the condition of continuity of water both with its variable and constant discharge along the way passing through the control volume of water moving with the velocity V_W. The wave stability on the free surface of an overland flow is analyzed.
