Abstract
The possibility of applying spectrophotometry to the quantitative determination of metronidazole and tinidazole with pyrocatechol violet as an optical reference sample is demonstrated. The optical parameters of the absorption bands of pyrocatechol violet and the optimum regions of absorption are established. Conversion factors are determined and the equations of calibration curves are presented.
