本文纪念苏联时期著名的国内组织学家、教授、博士生物学家Iraida M. Pestova诞辰110周年。Pestova毕业于Sverdlovsk State Medical Institute（现Ural State Medical University）， 是该校传奇性第一届毕业生之一。1936年毕业后，她进入正常解剖学教研室攻读研究生，在著名教授Alexei P. Lavrentiev的指导下学习，他是该教研室的创始人及第一任主任。1937年，Pestova移居到Perm市，进入Perm State Medical Institute的组织学研究生院，导师是Petr Y. Lakhovsky。从此，她开始了作为组织学家的成功学术道路，并最终成为Perm State Medical Institute组织学教研室的负责人。该教研室当时的主要研究方向是脊椎动物免疫系统和造血系统的进化研究。作为学者，Pestova继承了杰出的苏联组织学家、进化组织学创始人、苏联科学院及苏联医学科学院院士Alexei A. Zavarzin的学术传承。Zavarzin在Perm奠定了进化方向的组织学基础，之后，Evgenii S. Danini进一步发展了这一方向，他也是Pestova的导师。本文回顾了教授Pestova的生平和事业，展示了她对科学和教学的贡献，以及她的专业素质和个人特质。
