Multitarget analysis of CFAR detection of partially-correlated χ2 targets

El Mashade M.

Аннотация

The goal of this paper is to treat the problem of detecting the partially-correlated χ2 fluctuating targets with two and four degrees of freedom. We analyze the detection performance in general terms of the more generalized version, which is known asGTM,of theCFARprocessors when the operating environment is contaminated with outlying target returns and the radar receiver carries its processing based on post-detection integration of M exponentially correlated pulses. Analytical formulas for the detection and false alarm probabilities are derived, in the absence as well as in the presence of spurious targets which are assumed to be moderately fluctuating following χ2 target models. A performance assessment by numerous numerical examples, which has considered the role that each parameter can play in the processor performance, is given. The obtained results show that the processor performance enhances, for weak SNR of the primary target, as the correlation coefficient ρs increases and this occurs either in the absence or in the presence of extraneous targets. As the strength of the target return increases, the processor tends to invert its behavior. The well-known Swerling models embrace the correlated target cases in the situation where the correlation among the target returns follows χ2 fluctuation models with two and four degrees of freedom and this behavior is common for allGTMbased detectors.

Pattern recognition of 1D and 2D signals using normalization and normal transformation

Rybin A., Melnyk A., Nizhebetskaya Y., Sushko I., Litvintsev S.

Аннотация

Different classification methods for 1D signals using the normalization, including normalization in terms of level and in terms of step and the normal transformation, have been proposed. Normal filtering is a variant of special matched filtering. The application of normalization in terms of level and normal transformation for 2D signals was also considered. The filter formation and classification algorithms for the considered variants were presented. An algorithm for direct formation of the matrix operator of normal transformation for 1D signal was described. Case studies were used to illustrate the application of above methods. The possibility of a variable scale of input signals was also taken into account.

Building-up principles of auditory echoscope for diagnostics of human middle ear

Didkovskyi V., Naida S.

Аннотация

The building-up principles of diagnostic unit for determining the acoustic impedance with enhanced accuracy have been formulated using a case study of developing a laboratory prototype of auditory echoscope. This unit enables us to assess the condition of human middle ear both qualitatively and quantitatively and also determine the appropriate parameters by measuring the coefficient of acoustic reflection from tympanic membrane.

Method of images segmentation by dynamic spectral characteristics

Borodyn A.

Аннотация

In considered method we use basic principles of biometrics and bioradiolocation for solution of the problem of images segmentation. Using dynamic spectral characteristics, obtained by means of wavelet spectrum we extract biometric indicator in form of signal of brightness pixels modification at the face skin part, specified by heartbeat. It is proposed to use quasi-matched wavelet filters for efficient selection of human heartbeat signal and it is shown the possibility of its frequency measurement practically at real-time mode. Obtained results can be used for many medical applications, security systems, object identification, etc.
