System spectral analysis of infrasonic signal generated by Chelyabinsk meteoroid

Lazorenko O., Chernogor L.

Resumo

There are represented the results of the system spectral analysis using a set of linear and non-linear integral transformations for the time registrations of the acoustic signal generated by the Chelyabinsk meteoroid and registered by the Antarctic infrasonic station. The detailed time-frequency signal structure is analyzed.

Channel shortening equalizer for multi-access TH-UWB in the presence of multipath and multiuser interference

Benotmane N., Elahmar S.

Resumo

In this paper a novel channel shortening equalizer (CSE) for time hopping ultra wideband (TH-UWB) multiple access system with pulse position modulation (PPM) is presented. As UWB channels have very long impulse responses as compared to the narrow pulse width, CSE can reduce the number of correlators. In UWB systems, due to the received pulse that is very similar to the channel impulse response (CIR), the proposed algorithm maximizes the shortening signal to inter-symbol and multiuser interferences ratio (SSINR), defined as the ratio of the received signal energy inside the desired window to the energy in the wall and multiuser interference. The existence of the proposed CSE before correlation receiver decreases the complexity of the receiver architecture by significantly reducing the number of effective channel taps. Further we extend our method to derive general expression for the bit error rate (BER) performance in the presence of inter-symbol and multiuser interferences. Computer simulation results are provided to compare the performance of the proposed method with a MSSNR CSE, lower bound, also known as All-Rake, Partial-Rake, and Selective-Rake in terms of Rake operational temporal windows and BER.

Model based on matern process for ICI mitigation in multi cell cooperation

Singh S., Yadav S., Kumar S.

Resumo

Ever increasing need of data rate and coverage can be achieved by mitigating the impairments of wireless communication system. Inter cell interference (ICI) is one of the most challenging impairment of wireless communication. To mitigate ICI, multi cell cooperation (MCC) based technique has been proposed in literature. In this paper, ICI mitigation is achieved by using Matérn Hard-Core Point Process (MHCP) instead of Poisson point process (PPP). In MHCP a minimum distance between base stations is maintained. Therefore, MHCP corresponds to real deployment scenario. Also, use of MHCP reduces the analytical complexity significantly compared to that of PPP. A closed form expression for complementary cumulative distribution function (CCDF) of signal-to-interference ratio is derived using MHCP for MCC based system in terms of number of base stations, number of antennas and path loss. Using derived expression of CCDF, analytical expressions for probability density function and ergodic capacity is also presented in the closed form. Finally, performance analysis is shown in terms of ergodic capacity. Results are validated by comparing the proposed results with [4].

Estimation of ultrawideband quasi-radio signal duration

Trifonov A., Korchagin Y., Titov K.

Resumo

Quasi-likelihood and maximum likelihood algorithms of duration estimation for ultra-wideband quasi-radio signal of arbitrary shape with unknown amplitude and initial phase, influenced by additive Gaussian white noise, are synthesized. It was considered that conditions of relatively narrow band of received signal are not satisfied and its duration can constitute only several periods or a fraction of period of harmonic oscillation. It is shown that the structure of the algorithm for duration estimation of ultra-wideband quasi-radio signal is significantly different from the structure of duration estimation algorithm for narrowband radio signal. Relative bias and variance are determined as the statistical characteristics of synthesized duration estimates. The influence of unknown amplitude and initial phase on the accuracy of duration estimation is investigated. Quantitative limits for relation of signal bandwidth to its center frequency are formulated, such that the classical solution of the problem of duration estimation for narrowband radio signal possesses the required accuracy.

Method of infrared radiation detection by uncooled photodetector

Ivanchenko I., Budiyanskaya L., Santonii V., Smyntyna V.

Resumo

The article describes an optical method for detecting radiation in the far infrared region of the spectrum against the thermal noise background with an uncooled photodetector (PD) that is relevant for the field of indicator sensors. The basis of thePDis an abrupt anisotype heterojunction, made according to the “optical window–absorber” connection. The article considers the mechanism of the appearance of photocurrent components in a heterojunction during the absorption of long-wave radiation and their ratio. A measurement of the photocurrent in PD by incorporating a heterojunction into a bridge circuit is proposed. An analytical description of the dependence of the loop currents on the elements of the equivalent heterojunction circuit and the bridge measurement circuit is given. It is established that the functional dependences of the photocurrent components through the structural elements of the heterojunction are opposite in sign and intersect at the point of equality of their values. The method makes it possible to divide the currents in the heterojunction layers, calculate or set the current reference value by adjusting the measuring circuit and to provide the measurement of the photocurrent that is less than the thermal background in magnitude. An example of the practical implementation of the method in a heterojunction PD with the structure n(CdSe)–p(Pb1–xSnxSe) is presented.

Simulation of high-power 8-mm band avalanche-oscillator diodes

Maksymov P.

Resumo

The results of computer simulation of 8-mm band high-power avalanche-oscillator diodes (AOD) based on abrupt reverse biased p–n junctions with constant voltage have been presented. It is shown that AOD synchronously generate two oscillations in p- and n-regions of p–n junction, respectively. A technique is proposed for determining the parameters that ensure the diode operation in the mode of coherent oscillations. It is shown that the diode output power in this operation mode increases at the expense of summing-up the electron and hole components. The dynamic range of output power and the electronic efficiency are also determined.
