Abstract

We studied the effect of frequency dispersion in an antenna-waveguide tract on the properties of the difference frequency signal when measuring distances in free space. The dispersion leads to an increase in the measurement error and reduced noise immunity. It has been shown that the simultaneous impact of frequency dispersion and parasitic amplitude modulation further increases the error. We propose and investigate variants of the Fourier transform that reduce said error, and give quantitative estimates of the achieved performance results.
