Are there p-adic knot invariants?

Morozov A.

Аннотация

We suggest using the Hall–Littlewood version of the Rosso–Jones formula to define the germs of p-adic HOMFLY-PT polynomials for torus knots [m, n] as coefficients of superpolynomials in a q-expansion. In this form, they have at least the [m, n] ↔ [n, m] topological invariance. This opens a new possibility to interpret superpolynomials as p-adic deformations of HOMFLY polynomials and poses a question of generalizing to other knot families, which is a substantial problem for several branches of modern theory.

Nonlocal Darboux transformation of the two-dimensional stationary Schrödinger equation and its relation to the Moutard transformation

Kudryavtsev A.

Аннотация

We consider a nonlocal Darboux transformation of the two-dimensional stationary Schrödinger equation and establish its relation to the Moutard transformation. We show that the Moutard transformation is a special case of the nonlocal Darboux transformation and obtain new examples of solvable two-dimensional stationary Schrödinger operators with smooth potentials as an application of the nonlocal Darboux transformation.

Asymptotic behavior of dispersive waves in a spiral structure at large times

Kiselev V.

Аннотация

In the framework of the sine-Gordon integrable model for spiral magnetic structures, we investigate the behavior at large times of a weakly nonlinear dispersive wave field generated by a spatially local initial excitation of the structure. The method used is based on a direct asymptotic analysis of the corresponding matrix of the Riemann problem on the torus.

“Quantization” of an isomonodromic Hamiltonian Garnier system with two degrees of freedom

Novikov D., Suleimanov B.

Аннотация

We construct solutions of analogues of a time-dependent Schrödinger equation corresponding to an isomonodromic polynomial Hamiltonian of a Garnier system with two degrees of freedom. The solutions are determined by solutions of linear differential equations whose compatibility condition is the given Garnier system. With explicit substitutions, these solutions reduce to solutions of the Belavin–Polyakov–Zamolodchikov equations with four times and two spatial variables.

Zeros of combinations of Bessel functions and the mean charge of graphene nanodots

Beneventano C., Fialkovsky I., Santangelo E.

Аннотация

We establish some properties of the zeros of sums and differences of contiguous Bessel functions of the first kind. As a by-product, we also prove that the zeros of the derivatives of Bessel functions of the first kind of different orders are interlaced the same way as the zeros of the Bessel functions themselves. As a physical motivation, we consider gated graphene nanodots subject to Berry–Mondragon boundary conditions. We determine the allowed energy levels and calculate the mean charge at zero temperature. We discuss its dependence on the gate (chemical) potential in detail and also comment on the effect of temperature.

Semiclassical asymptotic approximation of the two-dimensional Hartree operator spectrum near the upper boundaries of spectral clusters

Pereskokov A.

Аннотация

We consider an eigenvalue problem for the two-dimensional Hartree operator with a small parameter at the nonlinearity. We obtain the asymptotic eigenvalues and the asymptotic eigenfunctions near the upper boundaries of the spectral clusters formed near the energy levels of the unperturbed operator and construct an asymptotic expansion around the circle where the solution is localized.

One approach to solving the basic equation of magnetostatics in the case of nonhomogeneous magnets

Dyakin V., Kudryaschova O., Raevskii V.

Аннотация

We propose a general approach for solving the basic magnetostatic equation in the case of nonhomogeneous magnetic solids when their magnetic permeability depends on the coordinates. Seeking the strength of the resulting field reduces to finding two scalar functions satisfying a system of one integral and one differential equation with certain boundary conditions. Using this approach, we obtain an analytic solution of the magnetostatic equation for a ball with a model permeability in an arbitrary external field.

High-frequency spectral distribution of the equilibrium radiation energy in a plasma

Bobrov V., Trigger S.

Аннотация

We establish that the difference of the spectral distribution of the equilibrium radiation energy in matter from the Planck formula in the high-frequency range is determined by the imaginary part of the transverse dielectric permittivity of the matter. Based on this, we show that in a rarified high-temperature fully ionized nonrelativistic plasma, the high-frequency spectral distribution of the equilibrium radiation energy differs essentially from the Planck formula because of the power-law character of the decrease in the frequency, which is due to the presence of matter.

Some properties of the dynamics of collapse in massive and massless relativistic theories of gravity

Antipin K., Dubikovsky A., Silaev P.

Аннотация

We investigate the dynamics of collapse in massive and massless relativistic theories of gravity for different equations of state for matter numerically and analytically. This allows clarifying the character of the collapse dynamics in the massive relativistic theory of gravity; in particular, we establish the graviton-mass dependence of the time of reaching the turning point (i.e., the point of transition from contraction to expansion). For the massless relativistic theory of gravity, we clarify the relation between the known general relativity solution for cold dust and the corresponding solution in the relativistic theory of gravity. We show that the harmonic time is singular, including the case of a smooth distribution of matter corresponding to a compact object with a strongly diffused boundary, which means that the Oppenheimer–Snyder solution cannot be fully embedded into the Minkowski space. We in addition investigate the effect of a nonzero pressure on the collapse dynamics.

Longitudinal electric current generated by a transverse electromagnetic field in a collisional plasma

Latyshev A., Yushkanov A.

Аннотация

We consider a collisional plasma with an arbitrary degree of degeneration of the electron gas. The plasma is located in an external electromagnetic field. We calculate the electric current generated in the plasma by the electromagnetic field. We show that the electric current has two nonzero components. One component is a transverse current, obtained by a linear analysis. The second component is a longitudinal current directed along the wave vector and orthogonal to the transverse current. We consider the case of small wave numbers. As the collision rate tends to zero, all the derived formulas pass into formulas for a collisionless plasma. We perform a graphical investigation of the dimensionless current density depending on the wave number, the oscillation frequency of the electromagnetic field, and the rate of electron collisions with plasma particles.

Commensurability and Molchanov’s hypothesis

Gubaidullin M.

Аннотация

About half a century ago, A. M. Molchanov conjectured the existence of a resonance structure of the solar system, stating that as the solar system evolves, its planets inevitably drift to orbits for which the ratios of their orbital periods become close to ratios of relatively small natural numbers. In Molchanov’s opinion, this resonance property is ensured by small dissipative forces. We offer another possible explanation of this phenomenon without taking dissipation into account.

Translation-invariant p-adic quasi-Gibbs measures for the Ising–Vannimenus model on a Cayley tree

Mukhamedov F., Saburov M., Khakimov O.

Аннотация

We consider the p-adic Ising–Vannimenus model on the Cayley tree of order k = 2. This model contains nearest-neighbor and next-nearest-neighbor interactions. We investigate the model using a new approach based on measure theory (in the p-adic sense) and describe all translation-invariant p-adic quasi-Gibbs measures associated with the model. As a consequence, we can prove that a phase transition exists in the model. Here, “phase transition” means that there exist at least two nontrivial p-adic quasi-Gibbs measures such that one is bounded and the other is unbounded. The methods used are inapplicable in the real case.

Multifactorial global search algorithm in the problem of optimizing a reactive force field

Stepanova M., Shefov K., Slavyanov S.

Аннотация

We present a new multifactorial global search algorithm (MGSA) and check the operability of the algorithm on the Michalewicz and Rastrigin functions. We discuss the choice of an objective function and additional search criteria in the context of the problem of reactive force field (ReaxFF) optimization and study the ranking of the ReaxFF parameters together with their impact on the objective function.
