New microorganisms from the Vendian (Ediacaran) of the Berezovsky Trough, southern Siberian Platform
Аннотация
The new microorganism Surninia implicata gen. et sp. nov. from the Vendian (Ediacaran) Berezovsky Trough is described. As a result of biological interpretation of the well-preserved remains of microorganisms, they are assigned to the kingdom Fungi.
Foraminifers of the genus Tournayellina Lipina, 1955
Аннотация
The genus Tournayellina (family Chernyshinellidae), important for stratigraphy of the Devonian–Carboniferous boundary interval, is revised. Species and generic morphological characters are considered and the species composition of the genus is revised. The evolution of the family is discussed and its geographical and stratigraphic distribution is examined. The species Tournayellina quadrilobata Postojalko, 1999 is redescribed in accordance with new data on its morphology. The new species T. intermedia Stepanova, sp. nov. is established.
New records of bipolar nuculanid bivalves of the genus Glyptoleda in the Permian of northeastern Asia
Аннотация
Geographical and stratigraphical ranges of the bipolar nuculanid bivalves of the genus Glyptoleda is considered. In the Boreal Biogeographical Superrealm, Glyptoleda is only known in the eastern (high boreal) part: in the Novaya Zemlya and Verkhoyansk–Okhotsk provinces. Glyptoleda is recorded for the first time in the Kolyma–Omolon Province. Possibly, the appearance of glyptoleds in the northern Eurasian basins was associated with cooling episodes. A new species, Glyptoleda parenica sp. nov., is described from the Kungurian–Roadian beds of the southeastern framing of the Omolon Massif.
Argutostrea gen. nov.: Questions of taxonomy and ethology of Middle–Late Jurassic epibiont oysters (Bivalvia, Ostreoidea)
Аннотация
Morphology and ethology of the Middle–Late Jurassic oyster “Liostrea” roemeri (Quenstedt) from the Upper Callovian of the Volga Region near Saratov and Middle Volgian of the Subpolar Urals are considered. The inverted shell shape and presence of a beaked umbo on the right valves allow the assignment of these oysters to a new monotypic genus, Argutostrea Kosenko, gen. nov. Features of the internal valve structure examined in only one specimen suggest that the new genus should tentatively be included in the subfamily Pycnodonteinae Stenzel, 1959 of the family Gryphaeidae Vialov, 1936. It is shown that shell morphology of the oyster A. roemeri is connected with transition to dwelling on floating ammonites.
Evolution of the genus Baylea (Gastropoda) in the Kazan Paleobasin (Middle Permian, Volga–Ural Region)
Аннотация
An assemblage of species of the genus Baylea (B. subpenea (Netchaev, 1894), B. vjatkensis Mazaev, 2015, B. praeburtasorum sp. nov., and B. shilovskyi sp. nov.) from the Lower Kazanian Substage (Middle Permian) is described. It is shown that this assemblage is phylogenetically connected with the Late Kazanian species B. rigida Mazaev, 2015, B. foraminata Mazaev, 2015, B. chimbulatiensis Mazaev, 2015, B. nemdaensis Mazaev, 2015, and B. burtasorum (Golowkinsky, 1868). Index species of three stratigraphic intervals are recognized: B. praeburtasorum sp. nov.–B. shilovskyi sp. nov., B. rigida–B. foraminata, and B. burtasorum. The morphology and polymorphism of the studied species are discussed.
A new Paratethyan genus of the ostracod subfamily Loxoconchinae (Podocopida, Cytheroidea)
Аннотация
A new ostracod genus established in a Loxoconchinae fauna from the Eastern Paratethys, with two species known from the Pliocene–post-Pliocene and Recent of the Caspian Sea and Dnieper–Bug estuary of the Black Sea Basin is described. Comparative morphological analysis of four Loxoconchinae genera from a brackish-water fauna of the Paratethyan basins is performed and the trends in morphological evolution of their hinge structures are revealed.
The first Eocene tumbling beetle of the genus Isotrilophus (Insecta: Coleoptera: Mordellidae) from the Green River Formation (Colorado, United States)
Аннотация
The first fossil representative of the genus Isotrilophus Liljeblad (Mordellidae), I. rasnitsyni sp. nov., from the Lower Eocene of the Green River Formation (Colorado) is described. The new species differs from its only congener, I. erraticus (Smith, 1883), in the shape of eye, metepisternum, configuration of temporal angle, lateral edge of the prothorax, and in the length ratio of the prothorax and elytra. The first I. erraticus south of Nicaragua (e.g., in Costa Rica and Peru) are recorded.
On the taxonomic state of a digger wasp of the tribe Crabronini (Hymenoptera, Crabronidae, Crabroninae) from the Dominican amber
Аннотация
“Lindenius paleomystax” described from the Miocene Dominican amber has been included into a separate digger wasp genus, Lindocerus gen. nov. (Crabronidae, Crabroninae, Crabronini), which is similar to the genus Crossocerus Lepeletier de Saint Fargeau et Brullé, 1835, but differs in the well-pronounced hypersternaulus.
A new halfbeak species (Beloniformes, Hemiramphidae) from the Lower Sarmatian of the Krasnodar Region
Аннотация
A new halfbeak species (Beloniformes, Hemiramphidae), Hyporhamphus tatjanchenkoi sp. nov., is described from the Lower Sarmatian fish-bearing deposits cropping out along the Pshekha River (Northern Caucasus). Comparative osteological analysis of this new fossil and extant representatives of Hyporamphus seem to indicate that Hyporhamphus tatjanchenkoi sp. nov. is in some ways related to the Indo–Pacific species H. affinis (Günther) and H. gamberur (Rüppell).
Revision of non-passeriform birds from Polgárdi (Hungary, Late Miocene): 2. Galliformes
Аннотация
A taxonomic revision of Galliformes (Aves) from the Upper Miocene of Polgárdi has confirmed the presence of five taxa. A large pheasant originally described as Pavo aesculapi phasianoides Jánossy, 1991 is referred to the genus Syrmaticus as a valid species, S. phasianoides (Jánossy, 1991), comb. nov. Small phasianids are represented in Polgárdi by four taxa: Mioryaba magyarica gen. et sp. nov., Eurobambusicola turolicus gen. et sp. nov., Plioperdix hungarica (Jánossy, 1991), and a form similar in size to Mioryaba magyarica, but having a more primitive structure of the tarsometatarsus and carpometacarpus.
Participation of algal–bacterial community in the formation of modern stromatolites in Cock Soda Lake, Altai Region
Аннотация
Modern dolomite stromatolites are found in Cock Soda Lake (Kulunda Steppe) at a salinity of 100–200 g/L and pH of 10. The mineralogical analysis has revealed the presence in the stromatolites of Ca⎯Mg-carbonates of various compositions. The organisms–edificators of the phototrophic community developing in the lake are determined. They are identified as a part of the mineralized biota (cyanobacteria, bacteria, and eukaryotic alga Ctenocladus circinnatus). Morphological and ultrastructural features of exopolysaccharides secreted by cyanobacteria and bacteria dominant in the phototrophic community are characterized. It is shown that polysaccharides secreted primarily by cyanobacteria have the utmost importance for the formation of stromatolites in Petukhovskoe Soda Lake.
New dinocyst species (family Ceratiaceae Willey et Hickson) from the Lower Cretaceous of Southwestern Western Siberia
Аннотация
New species of Aptian dinoflagellate cyst of the family Ceratiaceae, Endoceratium immarinum sp. nov. and Nyktericysta (Hastodinium) sibirica sp. nov., are described. These taxa interpreted as nonmarine expand the palynological characteristics of the Vikulovo Formation of Western Siberia.
