Resumo
It was believed until recently that the sediments of the intra-dome trough of the Irkutsk Basin did not contain plant remains suitable to confidently determine the rocks’ age, or to correlate them with the successions in the major part of the Irkutsk Basin. In 2015 satisfactorily preserved plant remains were found for the first time in the intra-dome trough sections. The new species Phoenicopsis kurminensis sp. nov. was established based on this material. This species is the first representative of the subgenus Culgoweria, found in the Jurassic of the Irkutsk Basin.
