Prospects for the use of metal-oxide semiconductors in energy converters

The features of the properties of SnO₂, ZnO, and TiO₂ metal-oxide semiconductors, which are transparent in the visible range of the optical spectrum, are analyzed. The possibilities of using these materials to create nanoscale piezoelectric generators and UV lasers are demonstrated. Ways to increase the efficiency of solar energy conversion are described.
